SUBJECT: Their Folly Shall Be Manifest

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

 307      See, they couldn't follow Moses through that Word and take those children out of there into the wilderness, because they was associated in Egypt. They couldn't do it, though they done the same works he did. But their folly was made manifest. And the Bible says, That's THUS SAITH THE LORD, "It will take place again in the last day."

 34    And, watch, it's moving right out today in a terrible force all around... It behooves you, my brother, sister, to consider what you're listening at, and don't you never underestimate Satan's power for deceiving. Don't you never underestimate him. He's smooth as he can be. And the antichrist spirit isn't communism. No. The antichrist spirit is so close like the real thing till it'll deceive the very elect if possible. Jesus said so, Matthew 24. It's a religious spirit. Oh, why, Cain and Abel were brothers. The crow and the dove set on the same roost. Esau and Jacob were brothers. Judas and Jesus was in the same church, One the Preacher and the other one the treasurer. See there, always just the deceiving... The lie that Cain... that Satan told Eve, was ninety percent truth, ninety percent truth. And the lie that you can tell...

  241    Don't you see how religious the devil is? The devil's not no anti-, great big thing like communism, all against Christianity. That's not. That's just all of the devil, sure, but it's not the antichrist. The antichrist is very religious, very religious. It was a religious spirit that crucified Jesus. It's always been a religious world, a religious people, that crucifies. It's the religious people that was against the true Christ. It was the religious prophets that was against Micaiah. It's the religious people of the day that's against the Message of God.

 232    I want to ask... No one has to say this. There's at least fifteen or twenty people setting right here was guilty of thinking that I was Jesus Christ. How could they do it? I was right onto them till I found out that God told me it was a spirit. And them men, I said... And them men believed me, every word. I said, "How do you believe me then, if I tell you?" Then we got to the Word; then they begin to see, said, "Well, sure, we didn't believe you, or we'd have listened to what you said." See there?

But they actually thought they were right, sincerely. See? And one of those spirits gets on you, that's got it (See?), you'll absolutely believe it. I don't care; there's nobody can tell you any different. See? No matter how much the Word says so, well, you just don't believe It anyhow; just go on. "If you want to be that way, you go ahead, and I'll have my own way." See, that shows you're anointed with the wrong spirit.

I want to make one more comparison between the Laodicean prophet-messenger and John, the prophet-messenger who preceded Jesus' first coming. The people in John's day mistook him for the Messiah.

 "And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ."

 Now this last day prophet-messenger will have such power before the Lord that there will be those who mistake him for the Lord Jesus.(There will be a spirit in the world at the end time that will seduce some and make them believe this.)

 "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, He is in the desert; go not forth; behold, He is in the secret chambers; believe it not.")

But don't you believe it. He is not Jesus Christ. He is not the Son of God. HE IS ONE OF THE BRETHREN, A PROPHET, A MESSENGER, A SERVANT OF GOD. He needs no greater honor bestowed upon him than that which John received when he was the voice that cried, "I am not He, BUT HE IS COMING AFTER ME."

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

 129-5 {84}    ... the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who... letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Who? He that letteth. See? See, a mystery... The mystery of iniquity way back in that very first church age here, here's Paul writing, saying that the mystery of iniquity... What is iniquity? Iniquity is something that you know you ought not to do, and you do it anyhow. And Paul said there's such in the earth today, workers of iniquity.

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

 "But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin, and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death."

 Now that is a picture of exactly what is happening in the church ages. As sin started in nothing but a feeling, so the death to the church started with the simple, little noticed deeds of the Nicolaitanes. From the deeds it went to a doctrine. From the doctrine it embraced the power of the state and the introduction of paganism. Now in this age it goes to its own prophetess (teacher) and so it travels on until it will find itself in the lake of fire, for that is exactly where it is going to end up, in the second death.
